How to Prepare for Your Kilimanjaro Trek
Kilimanjaro is a non-technical climb, but the altitude and long days require good preparation. Our team supports you from training advice and packing lists to on-mountain safety checks.
Below are key topics we cover with every guest before the trek: fitness, equipment, acclimatization, and the best time to climb.
Training & Fitness
We recommend at least 8–12 weeks of cardio and hill training. Focus on long walks with a daypack, stair climbs, and general endurance.
Packing List Essentials
Layered clothing for changing climate zones, broken-in hiking boots, warm sleeping bag, headlamp, trekking poles, and a small daypack.
Altitude & Safety
Climb high, sleep low. Our guides monitor your oxygen levels and adjust the pace so you acclimatize safely on the mountain.
Best Time to Climb
The driest and clearest conditions are usually from January–March and June–October, with good summit success rates.
